Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Easy Walk stores and how that data is handled when you use the app. It is based on the current app behavior in this codebase.

Information Stored In Easy Walk

Easy Walk stores profile information you choose to add, including your display name, profile photo, and the date your profile was created.

Easy Walk also stores walk-related data generated through use of the app, including planned walks, start and destination coordinates, route path coordinates, intermediate stops, estimated travel time, total distance, points of interest shown for a walk, ongoing walk session state, completed walk history, walk names, start and finish times, elapsed time, destination completion status, and point-of-interest check-in counts.

The app stores planner preferences and app settings, including marker count, point-of-interest preferences, appearance mode, and distance unit selection. It also stores badge progress, badge history, badge seen state, point-of-interest ratings you submit, and which points have already been shown to you.

Location Data

If you grant location permission, Easy Walk accesses your device location while the app is in use and also enables background location mode to support ongoing walk features. The app uses location to center maps, let you choose your current location as a starting point, measure progress during a walk, determine whether you are near a point of interest or destination, and update Live Activities for an active walk.

The app keeps the latest device coordinate in memory during use. It also stores selected route coordinates and completed route paths in app persistence as part of walk planning and walk history.

iCloud Storage

Easy Walk stores user data in the user's own iCloud account through CloudKit-backed app storage. This includes profile data, walks, preferences, badges, points of interest, ratings, and check-in state.

Easy Walk also stores public aggregate point-of-interest activity in a public CloudKit database. That public data is anonymous and consists of aggregate check-in totals and aggregate thumbs up or thumbs down totals for scenery, safety, and accessibility categories, keyed to a point identifier rather than your name, profile, or account identity.

Maps and Place Features

Easy Walk uses Apple platform map and place features for place search, reverse geocoding, nearby point-of-interest discovery, walking directions, Look Around imagery, and map snapshots inside the app.

The app may also cache point-of-interest images generated from Look Around or map snapshots in the app cache on your device.

Generated Place Content

Easy Walk may generate short, walking-focused summaries and image queries for some points of interest and route highlights using Apple platform capabilities when available on the device.

Ads

Easy Walk uses Google AdMob to display ads in some parts of the app. AdMob is the only external advertising service currently used by the app. When ads are enabled, Google may receive device and ad request data as part of serving ads, subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.

Purchases

Easy Walk offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock ad-free access. Purchases, transaction verification, entitlement status, and restore operations are handled through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems. Easy Walk checks whether the ad-free entitlement is active but does not process payment card information itself.

Data Sharing

Easy Walk does not sell your personal information. User data is stored in the user's iCloud account for the app. The only external service currently used by the app is Google AdMob for advertising.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored by Easy Walk remains in local app storage, cached files, or the user's iCloud-backed app storage until it is replaced, cleared inside the app, removed with app deletion, or deleted through the user's iCloud data lifecycle. Cached point-of-interest images may remain in the app cache until the system or app removes them.

Your Choices

You can choose whether to grant location access, whether to add a profile photo or display name, and whether to make an in-app purchase. You can also remove the app to stop future collection by the app on that device.

Security

Easy Walk relies on platform storage and service protections provided by Apple and other integrated providers, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Policy Updates

This policy may be updated if the app's data practices change. The version published with the service applies from its stated effective date.
